GLAMOUR STREET FASHION SHOW

Después de seis largos meses de espera, el día 4 de octubre llegaba el momento que tanto había esperado y podía disfrutar por fin de ser parte de lo que iba a ser el mayor desfile de street style jamas visto. Así que me arme de muchísimas ganas de pasarlo bien y exprimir al máximo esta experiencia, que se me había brindado gracias a todos vosotros, los que me habéis apoyado y votado día tras día. 

Llegue a Madrid el viernes por la noche y aunque estaba super cansada después de una jornada completa en la oficina y unos 500 kilómetros de viaje en tren, mis sentidos estaban más despiertos que nunca. Era mi primera vez en esta gran ciudad y nada más recorrer diez minutos por sus calles llenas de vida, luces y edificios imponentes, estaba irremediablemente enamorada. 

On the 4th of October, the moment I had been anxiously waiting for during the last six months had finally arrived and I was about to be part of the biggest street style fashion show ever seen. I embarked on this journey moved by the desire to have lots of fun and get the most of this experience, that I had been offered thanks to all of you, those who supported me and voted day after day. Madrid se había hecho con mi corazon.

I arrived in Madrid on Friday night and even though I was really tired after a full time working day and a 500 kilometers train trip, my senses were more awake than ever. It was my first time in this great city, and after only ten minutes of wandering through its bright, vibrant streets, with truly imposing buildings, I was irrevocably in love. Madrid had taken over my heart.

El día del desfile comenzó muy prontito  ya que después de apenas 3 horas de sueño tuve que empezar a prepararme con tal de estar en el Hotel Palace a las ocho de la mañana. A partir de este momento el tiempo empezó a moverse a una velocidad increíble. Había planeado hacer mil fotos y capturar cada segundo de este día pero no pude llevar la cámara encima todo el rato así que las imágenes de este post serán una recopilación, algunas de la web de Glamour, un par de mi cámara y otras cuantas del móvil.

The day of the fashion show started really early and after only three hours of sleep I had to start getting ready so I could get to the Palace Hotel at eight o´clock in the morning. From this moment on time began to flow differently, passing much more quickly. I had planned to take a thousand pics and capture every second of this day, but I couldn´t take the camera with me at all times so the images from today’s post are a compilation, some taken from Glamour’s website, a few from my camera and some from my phone.

Después de recibir nuestras acreditaciones tuvimos que encontrarnos con las estilistas para acabar de completar el look. 

After receiving our credentials we had to meet with our stylists so that they could complete our look.

Eramos como niñas abriendo los regalos de navidad, esperando ansiosas para ver que habían escogido para nosotras. Mi look setentero fue complementado, o mejor dicho transformado por completo, con unos zapatos animal print con cordoneras y suela gruesa de SIXTYSEVEN, camisa de HAKEI, sombrero de EL CORTE INGLÉS y guantes de cuero.

We were like little kids opening their Christmas presents, impatient to see what they had chosen for us. My 70's look was complemented, or better said completely transformed, with animal print lace-up shoes from SIXTYSEVEN,  HAKEI shirt, fedora hat from EL CORTE INGLÉS and leather gloves.

Las prendas en si me han gustado mucho, pero no me he llegado a sentir del todo cómoda con el resultado final. Era un look que por muy setentero que fuera, no me representaba para nada y con el que no me sentí identificada. Pero había venido a pasarlo bien y nada lo iba a impedir así que intenté disfrutar como fuera de cada etapa de esta experiencia, y después de pasar por maquillaje y peluquería ya estaba lista para desfilar. 

I liked each and every one of the items and yet I didn´t actually feel satisfied with the final result. It was a 70's look indeed, but it wasn´t really my style and I felt as if it didn´t characterize me at all. But after all I was there to have fun and nothing could keep me from enjoying all the stages of this experience, so after going through hair and make-up I was ready to take over the catwalk.

Mi día fue mucho mejor gracias a las chicas increíbles que tuve la suerte de conocer y con las que he compartido momentos muy bonitos: comiendo de pie o amontonadas en una pequeña mesita redonda en el buffet del hotel, sentadas en el suelo de la sala de ensayo, haciéndonos fotos en el espejo de la zona de maquillaje y peluquería, o selfies en el backstage. Todo esto es o que realmente ha hecho que esta experiencia realmente se convirtiera en inolvidable. 

My day was significantly improved with the help of all those incredible girls that I had the opportunity to meet, with whom I shared really nice moments: eating either standing up or simply or crowded around a tiny round table at the hotel's buffet, resting on the floor of the rehearsal hall, taking photos in the mirrors from the hair and make-up area or selfies in the backstage. This is what really made this experience unforgettable.

El desfile paso en un suspiro, pero sin duda fue un autentico lujazo compartir backstage con Martina Klein, Malena Costa, Mario Vaquerizo, Bimba Bosé, David Delfin o la conocidísima bloguera Alexandra Pereira del blog Lovely Pepa.

The fashion show was over in a glimpse, but sharing backstage with Martina Klein, Malena Costa, Mario Vaquerizo, Bimba Bosé, David Delfin or Alexandra Pereira from Lovely Pepa blog, was a true luxury.

Y por supuesto, no podía acabar el post sin una foto de las ganadoras de la noche. Muchísimas felicidades chicas! 

And of course, this post wouldn't be complete without a photo of the winners. Congratulations girls!

Al final del día estaba bastante desilusionada por no haber podido disfrutar tanto como estaba deseando, e incluso dije que quizás no había valido la pena... tantos meses de preparaciones para tres minutos de gloria. Pero ahora, mirando para atrás, estoy muy contenta de haberlo hecho, porque es verdad que los buenos días traen felicidad, pero los "no tan buenos" traen experiencia, y eso es incluso más valioso. El año que viene volveré a por más!

At the end of the day I was really disappointed for not being able to make the most of this event, and even ended up saying that it wasn´t worth waiting so many months for just three minutes of glory... But now, when I look back on it, I'm really happy for having been a part of all this, as it is true that good days bring us happynes, but "not so good" days bring experience, and that is even more valuable. Next year I will go back for more!
